A reason for optimism: Retired Army General Jerry Ralph Curry, a great man, a tremendous leader in charge in the mold of Ronald Reagan, has announced he is running for president of the United States.

General Curry is a breath of fresh air and a proven leader in charge –- a much better choice than all the political types out there –- Michael Huckaby, Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, and John McCain on the Republican side, and Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Dennis Kucinich, and various others on the Democratic side.
The news from Baghdad is good, in the sense that 27-million people who lived under Saddam Hussein’s tyranny for many decades, most of their lives, are now free and have self-determination and economic opportunity they never knew under the prior tyranny.
General Jerry Curry, better than all the other political wannabees out there, understands the world dynamics that face our country and the leadership responsibilities needed to protect our for liberty and advance economic productivity all our people and country want and need.
This is not a time to select a leader without a chest, as acclaimed British author C.S. Lewis stated years ago in his books “Mere Christianity” and “The Abolition of Man.”
Lewis was a true sage. Men or women without chests in political office are a scourge, as we found with former British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, who blinked at Adolf Hitler and almost lost a country and empire because of pure pacifist naivete and political cowardice. No leadership until Winston Churchill came along and bailed everyone out.
Curry, like Churchill, is a man with a chest who believes the C.S. Lewis vision and who would carry us forward better than all the other political wannabees in both parties vying to be president.
Whatever your view on the Afghanistan and Iraq liberation wars, the creative energies of tens of millions of people were liberated, free economies started, men, women, and children in both countries now being educated. The socialist collectivist state under the Taliban in Afghanistan and under Hussein’s dictatorship in Iraq were broken.
We need a proven leader in charge, a man like General Jerry Curry to keep the momentum going.
We do not need or want negative politicians who question the direction our country has taken for liberty throughout the world. We need to keep the momentum going for our own liberty and economic opportunity as well as the liberty and economic opportunity of all throughout the world. What does anyone not get about that?
Yes, there is chaos and strife. Iraq’s different tribal sects –- Sunni, Shia and Kurd –- remain in political sectarian strife for political dominance. Iran and Syria continue to create mischief to stir violence and mayhem in order to control the region and prevent a struggling new Iraq government to get its legs and become strong.
Crazy radical muslim jihadist idiots, for their own political power and materialistic ends, continue to bomb innocents each day in their maniacal efforts to bully and intimidate the populace into submission.
Unhappily, the U.S. military men and women, in order to hold things together as Iraq’s guardians are stuck there as policemen as the country’s political system takes baby steps toward walking on its own, until American commanders who won their freedom can take the toddler wheels off the proverbial bicycle and send the Iraq people down the hilly, bumpy road on their own, hopefully very soon.
President George W. Bush has stuck to his guns. As he has repeatedly said, it's a war against terror, and a majority of members of Congress in both parties –- despite those who have turned tail –- have supported the war against terror.
Ambivalent as I was about this imperialist entry into a country that had not directly invaded the United States or England, it is now clear the Iraq under Saddam Hussein, Syria, and Iran were agents supporting al Qaeda and radical international jihadist terrorism.
I admire the steadfastness of President Bush and England's former Prime Minister Tony Blair to stay the course together with other coalition partners against a different kind of terrorist foe that moves around the world like a rogue alligator.
And they did invade us, in the United States, England, Spain, and elsewhere, no question about it.
And the terrorists have continued to prepare to invade again. Eternal vigilance is the price of victory. The bad guys have been foiled time and again, and will continue to be foiled thanks to strong leadership and valiant military troops in the United States, Britain, and elsewhere.
“Sic semper tyrannus” –= “Thus always to tyrants” – the state of Virginia’s motto, and “Semper fidelis” – “Always faithful” –- motto of the U.S. Marines.
What do we not get about that? Subhead: Freedom, economic opportunity, and joy for all.
Let freedom ring.
Let us welcome and encourage the presidential candidacy of General Jerry Ralph Curry, and the sacrifice he and lovely wife Charlene are making on this next mission in his life to protect, defend, and advance the United States of America.
