A WORLD OF BASTARDS

One of the best books I’ve read lately written by Peter Hitchens, “The Abolition of Britain: From Winston Churchill to Princess Diana,” has a chapter titled “A Real Bastard.” It’s Chapter Eight, recounting the fact that marriage is dead in England. As in the United States, young people immorally are fornicating their eyes out, and the result has been a deluge of illegitimate children without a sound family structure. It’s not hard to figure out. A woman has sex with a horny guy, gets pregnant, thank God doesn’t want to have an abortion, has the baby, but the dad isn’t there, moves on to some other sexual partner, and the mother is left alone to raise her child, a bastard without a father figure. Peter Hitchens reports that England, Ireland, and Scotland are now countries of mostly bastard children, with single mothers trying to cope as best they can without help from the fathers of their infants. Translate across the globe. Same situation. We’re going down the drain because of rampant sexual immorality and  irresponsible fathers who abandon loving mothers and their innocent children. What are we to do? For starters, we have to get our young people back to strong moral standards. Girls, don’t give yourself away to a boy just for fun in the sack. There are consequences you will bear, and if the boy walks away, which he probably will, the responsibility is on you for life. Boys, get some gumption, courage, respect girls, stop using them just for a quick yee-ha. Realize that there are consequences from the yee-ha if you create a child. No girl wants to have an abortion because it kills a life within her that you created. But many girls are pressured to have abortions after you have had yee-ha with them. The burden and guilt of abortion is carried by the mother for life. So by allowing that to happen, you have practically ripped the heart out of the girl you got pregnant, and by walking away from your responsibility shown to everyone that you are not a real man, not trustworthy, just a user, loser, irresponsible. What woman would want to live with such a person and raise children? No self-respecting and loving woman would want to spend time, let alone a life, with a guy who produces bastard children because of his sexual wants and walks away from his lady’s love and responsibility for the child. There you have it. We’re a Western culture going down the tubes because of sexual promiscuity and irresponsibility. What are we to do? Get back to tried and true moral values. We need the media’s help, but that’s an uphill battle, probably unwinnable, as we watch all the current popular shows where people are cheating on their spouses, having affairs and casual sex with friends and workmates, and laughing about it all. A bleak picture indeed. A world of bastards.
