HILLARY'S BIG FIB

The news media has been flapping lately about Hillary Clinton’s recent repeated claims in speeches on the presidential campaign stump that when she visited war-torn Bosnia-Herzogovina as first lady with daughter Chelsea in March 1996, that she and Chelsea landed under sniper fire, accompanied by singer Sheryl Crow and comedian Sinbad, and “had to run with heads down.” Turns out this was a lie that Hillary Clinton has repeated and embellished many times for more than a decade. Hillary has constantly told audiences the lie that she and Chelsea, Sheryl Crow, and Sinbad had to “duck and run” from sniper gunfire after they arrived at Sarajevo and disembarked from the Air Force C-17 aircraft that took them there. Well, it turns out to be a flat lie.  News film footage has now come out showing Hillary, Chelsea, and their party, without helmets, calmly walking to waiting vehicles with military escort and no problems after they disembarked and were welcomed at the U.S. Air Force base in Bosnia near Sarajevo. Hillary Clinton has embellished this story for 12 years, which was a lie from beginning to end. And with all the witnesses – Air Force pilots, military flight attendants, Sheryl Crow and Sinbad, the U.S. ambassador and embassy staff, who thought Hillary could pull off this monstrous fib to make herself look heroic as the only first lady since Eleanor Roosevelt to visit this embattled region of the world? In radio and television interviews in March 2008, Hillary finally conceded in a speech and interviews in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, where she is battling Senator Barack Obama toe-to-toe for the Democratic presidential nomination, “I made a mistake. Lighten up guys. I speak millions of words. There’s much more area for error when you’re talking as much as I am talking.” Hold on. Let’s go back. It doesn’t matter how much you’re talking if you stick to the truth. And apparently, Hillary Clinton does not, as her husband did not about his sexual affair with Monica Lewinsky, through which Hillary Clinton defended adulterer Bill, and no one brought out the fact that Hillary herself had an adulterous sexual affair with her law partner Vincent Foster at Rose Law Firm in Little Rock when she was first lady of Arkansas, Governor Bill Clinton’s wife. The Clintons brought Foster to Washington as President Clinton’s deputy legal counsel in the White House, and he blew his brains out six months after Bill Clinton became president in a suicide at Fort Marcy Park off the George Washington Parkway near McLean, Virginia. When you go to Hillary Clinton’s own published autobiography, “Living History,” published by Scribner in 2003, she relates the Bosnia trip in pages 341 through 346. She wrote that the converted Boeing 707 took them to Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany, “near Baumholder, home to the First Armored Division, which provided most of the U.S. forces in Bosnia.” She related that a C-17 transport plane, piloted by an unnamed woman, took her, Chelsea, singer Sheryl Crow and comedian Sinbad from Ramstein Air Force Base to Tuzla Air Force Base in Bosnia. “In addition to the entertainers, we brought pallets of mail and gifts for the troops, including donations from American companies of 2,200 long-distance calling cards and 300 movies on video. The White House contributed six cases of M&Ms with the presidential seal on every box. “For the children in Bosnia, who had lost years of schooling because of the fighting, American companies donated school supplies and toys..” Before arriving “high over the devastated countryside [in Bosnia], above the reach of surface-to-air missiles and sniper fire,” preparations were made aboard for the arrival, Hillary wrote in her book. “As a reminder of the dangers that remained despite the official cease-fire, each of us was required to wear a flak jacket on the plane, and the Secret Service moved Chelsea and me up to the armored cockpit for the landing. “Above the airstrip, the captain dipped a wing and made a near-perpendicular landing to evade possible grou7nd fire. “Security conditions were constantly changing in the former Yugoslavia,” Hillary wrote in her book, “and they had already deteriorated again. Due to reports of snipers in the hills around the airstrip, we were forced to cut short an event on the tarmac with local children, though we did have time to meet them and their teachers and to learn how hard they had worked during the war to continue classes in any safe spot they could find. “One eight-year-old girl gave me a copy of a poem she had written entitled ‘Peace.” Chelsea and I presented the school supplies we had brought, along with letters from seventh-grade children at Baumholder [Germany] whose parents and teachers had initiated a pen pal program. “We were then hustled off to the fortified American base at Tuzla, where more than two thousand American, Russian, Canadian, British and Poliosh soldiers were encamped in a large tent city. “Sheryl Crow, Sinbad asnd Chelsea and I flew in Black Hawk helicopters to visit soldiers in forward positions. We were flanked by gunships, and indication of what a dangerous job peacekeeping could be. We touched down at Camp Bedrock and Camp Alicia, Army outposes in northeastern Bosnia.” No incidents, no firing upon them, no ducking and running. Hillary, Chelsea, Sheryl Crow and Sinbad faced nothing to cause them to “duck and run.” Hillary made it all up, as her own book account shows. “Liar, liar, pants on fire” was a popular phrase when I was growing up. Hillary’s false story about having to “duck and run” upon her arrival in Bosnia in March 1996 “shoots a hole in her credibility and experience argument,” as one TV commentator said. “If she fibs about small things, how can we trush her with big things?”
